Have you ever noticed how many of the software sites use Google AdSense?
Why not use these software sites and their use of AdSense to your competitive advantage?
If you have an AdWords account, setup a campaign which only targets the content network. Then create an ad group which contains the product name of one of your competitors as keywords. Last but not least, create some ads which explain how your software is better than the competition.
By doing so, AdWords will place your ads wherever your competition is being mentioned on the content network.
Your ads may find their way on to many of the software sites, blogs or review sites across the content network. You can be the thorn in your competition’s side.
Be competitive, be sold.

Really? don’t the site itself have anything to say about which ads it allows?
Cool idea anyway…would be sweet if it worked
Yes the site does have some control, but most don’t exercise it.
Also, why should they care if someone does this?
It works – we’ve used it to great effect for some of our clients.
Thanks Dave,
That’s an interesting strategy. I’d better check my own adsense blogs to see if you are there
