The BBC News website is tentatively reporting that the recession may be over:
“Confidence among business professionals has surged, suggesting the recession is at an end, a survey has said.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants’ index of business confidence rose to 4.8 at the end of June, from -28.2 in March, the biggest rise for two years.”
This follows reports Japan, Germany and France have officially left recession, and the US economy may also be recovering.
Question: What usually follows a transition from little to plenty?
Indulgence.
Nothing tastes quite as good as the first dessert to celebrate the end of a diet, the first mouthful after a fast, or the first meal out after a year of eating in.
Little is as appreciated as the first treat or luxury after many months of frugality.
Are you poised to be noticed when the money starts trickling back into the budgets?
Now is a great time to be seen.

The recession may well be showing signs of recovery on paper, but the job losses are still happening. I call bullshit.
I call bullshit too.
This whole recession thing is ridiculous, it is made entirely out of peoples fear. I find it so irritating that out of a couple of bad things happening, people will all follow the same sheep mentality, the media reports a recession, everyone stops spending, bringing economies worldwide to their knees. What could have been a small blip has turned into a shit storm.
So what happens now? As soon as one large media outlet reports that it’s all over and the other media outlets and economists are all confident they can agree and not lose any of their precious credibility they all start proclaiming “The recession is over, you can come out of your bomb shelters now”. Then, everyone does.
I honestly couldn’t think of a more ridiculous system if I tried.
Holy crap, I hate human nature… now if you excuse me, I’m going to go hide away from the rest of humanity until they stop reporting about this bloody mess they got themselves into.
